About the job
We are excited to recruit a Cook into our ranks at St Nicolas Junior School. The role is perfect for you if you are looking for a term time only role that allows you to spend your time at home during the school holidays. We are looking for someone who has a passion for food – turning ‘school food’ on its head by delivering nutritious, healthy food to pupils, and bringing some fun to lunch time.
You must be able, and willing to manage the 360-degree kitchen. This means you are a chef, a leader, a cleaner, a KP, and a H&S manager. It’s up to you to prep like a boss, manage your time and get everything done. This is a flagship school and a great opportunity to make a real difference.
You’ll be joining a small company and have high input from our Culinary Director and Managing Director. You are supported by a FAB General Assistant.
During COVID-19, things are a little bit different, but please be assured we have plans in place to make sure we have as many as people eating as possible whilst ensuring they remain safe.
Requirements
• Educated to 4 GCSE’s or above with City & Guild’s / NVQ qualifications or suitable company in-house training
• Previous experience as a chef, including holding supervisory responsibility for a minimum of 1 years
• Understanding of Food Hygiene and Safety or above
• Successful progressive background in contract catering (preferred)
